Char-Griller Vixen ATERA H12x30 Image Stabilized Binoculars - SKU_1769842775541_942
At 422 grams, the ATERA H12x30 is one of the lightest binoculars with an image stabilizer. Thanks to the strong stabilizer effect , an extremely stable field of view is achieved even with the free hand. At a higher magnification you can observe everything in detail, such as reading signs and labels, recognizing the structure of bird feathers and the ATERA is also a great helper when observing the stars in astronomy.
Less vibrations in the field of view increase the visibility of object details and the comfort of observation.
The vibration of the hands often makes it difficult to see fine details on objects, especially when magnified. The ATERA H12x30 has a vibration suppression mechanism ( gimbal ) with a 2-axis gimbal-controlled image stabilization mechanism. With a very large vibration correction angle of ± 3 degrees (up, down, left and right), a stable field of view can be achieved even at a high magnification of 12x . Since the micro-vibrations are also canceled , the finest details can only be recognized.
Two commercially available AAA micro batteries are used for the power supply . Since they are easy to get anywhere, safe operation is guaranteed even in remote areas. Thanks to a long operating time of up to 12 hours , you can concentrate on the observation without having to worry about battery consumption. An automatic switch-off function, which interrupts the power after 5 minutes, prevents the batteries from discharging unnecessarily.
By applying a complete multiple coating and an anti-reflective coating on all lens surfaces and the additional phase coating on the prisms , the light transmission and thus the brightness of the image are drastically increased. All of these measures ensure little scattered light and light loss and produce a particularly clear and high-contrast image.
A gently rounded shape that adapts to the hands, a focusing ring that can be turned gently with just one finger, a simple design, a battery compartment that is located away from the operating area, all of this enables comfortable handling. The integrated battery cover also provides effective protection against loss.
The ATERA is supplied with a comfort strap and a protective bag for transport.
Experience a whole new viewing experience, without vibrations and shake out of your free hand!

Q&A
Q1: What kind of binoculars are these?
A: Image-stabilized binoculars with 12× magnification and 30 mm objective lenses, designed for steady long-distance viewing without a tripod.
Q2: What is image stabilization and why does it matter?
A: They use a 2-axis gimbal image stabilization system to reduce hand-shake and vibration, delivering a stable, shake-free view even at high magnification.
Q3: How bright and clear is the view?
A: Fully multi-coated optics with anti-reflective and phase coatings enhance light transmission, contrast and clarity for crisp detailed images.
Q4: How long can I use them between battery changes?
A: Powered by 2 AAA batteries (easy to replace), the stabilizer runs for up to ~12 hours of continuous use with automatic shut-off to save battery.
Q5: Are these binoculars comfortable and portable?
A: Yes — lightweight (~422 g), ergonomic design with a smooth focus wheel and included neck strap + protective case make them easy to carry in the field.
Q6: What viewing distance and field of view can I expect?
A: 12× magnification with a ~73 m field of view at 1000 m and a close focus ~2.5 m make them versatile for nature, birdwatching, sightseeing, and more.
Q7: What accessories are included?
A: Includes a carrying case, neck strap, and batteries so you can start observing right away.
Maintenance Tips
1. Keep Lenses Clean
Remove dust first with a blower or soft brush, then gently wipe lenses with a clean microfiber cloth or lens tissue and optics-safe cleaner to avoid scratches and preserve coating performance.
2. Protect Optics in the Field
Use the included lens caps and keep the protective case on when not observing to prevent dirt, moisture, and impacts.
3. Battery Care
Use good-quality AAA batteries and replace before they drain completely; remove batteries during long storage to prevent leakage.
4. Avoid Moisture Exposure
These binoculars are not waterproof, so avoid heavy rain; if they get wet, dry thoroughly before storage.
5. Handle Gently
Avoid drops or knocks; sudden impacts can misalign optics or affect the image stabilization system.
6. Store Properly
Store in a cool, dry place in the case to protect the optics and mechanical parts when not in use.
7. Check Stabilizer Function
Test image stabilization periodically and keep the contacts clean to ensure smooth operation at high magnification.
